This bulb should NEVER be used in lamps designed for three-way bulbs, or used in fixtures controlled by dimmers, as this will damage the bulb.  If this bulb is used in lamps with on/off switches, or controlled by a wall on/off switch, then it is ABSOLUTELY NECESSARY to first switch the lamp switch or wall switch to the ON position, prior to inserting the bulb.  The on/off switch should thereafter never be touched (ie. it should be left in the ON position).  The bulb should always be controlled by the remote control.  Doing otherwise will damage the bulb.
